Service FAQs
What is a typical Heartland Community Church service?
Our Sunday service begins with the worship team (musicians and singers) leading the church through a set of contemporary, upbeat songs. (The lyrics are projected on the wall, so that everyone is comfortable joining in.) Next, the Pastor will teach a relevant lesson from the Bible. The sermon may include video or other media. We wrap up with a closing prayer and another song or two. A typical Sunday service is about 1 hour in length.
What do kids do during church?
Children aged 4 and up are welcome to join their respective Sunday School classes where they will enjoy music, crafts, and a Bible lesson. There is also a well-staffed nursery for infants and small children.
Should I bring my own Bible?
A: If you have a Bible, you are welcome to bring it for reference during the sermon. If you don’t have a Bible – no worries – scripture verses are projected on the wall (typically NIV translation) so everyone can follow along.
Do you have Communion?
A: We periodically share in Communion as a church, but we don’t have Communion every Sunday. All are welcome to participate by taking a communion wafer and an individual serving of juice –representing the Body and Blood of Christ. The Pastor leads the church in prayer and reflection during this time.
